Surface Displacements- City

Sunset paints the city in shades of red and yellow, adds colour beyond that of the grey of the concrete and glass.

Grey, white, and blue stretching as far as the eye can see. beyond the city center and out to sea the colours travel.

Hidden on an island not so far away the nature is allowed to bloom, rows on rows of grapes grow contained only by the dirt paths and towering trees.

Up and down the travels between levels are automated, less walking, less effort. The city does the work for us, and we do the work around it.

The built path covers the nature, each step in place of the rolling muddy hills. Enclosed by the concrete, tiles and brick from which the city is built.

tracking the things that pass by on my day to day walks, the eerie scenes a the city slows down. 6pm and the students go home, leaving behind light and solid structures. Until they return again.

Pain and bricks is all it takes to create a divide and a distance between the walked path and the driven path. A slight divot between the two levels, a path for water, a man made drain.

Beyond the lights, beyond the glass, beyond the city edge and the buzz of traffic, The trees grow and the animals run wild. But inside the city limits when the sun goes down and he moon comes up the people yell and scream as the days go by, celebrating life and milestones 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
