From this:
From structure and stability into chaos and uncertainty.
From the very first moment that we open our eyes until the last step across a high school gate as a teenager, everything that we have and everything that we know is through the support and upbringing of home. Breezing through the trial period of our lives not fully aware of what lies ahead.
Adulthood.
Now, we, as young adults, are forced to make many decisions about our future without being fully aware of the consequences these could have. Choosing to pursue further education or step into the workforce fulltime can be a very uncertain and uncontrollable time for someone. But one thing that should always be stable to us wherever we may go, and encourage the decisions that we make, is the comfort and warmth we get from home. Through sensory experiences of touch, smell, see, and hear we remember experiences we have had in our past. These first hand experiences we are able to connect to than stories that we have heard. These senses give us a very intimate connection to the things around
Home-
- Return by instinct to its territory after leaving it
- Place where someone lives permanently
- A member of family
- A place or thing where you can be the most you
- Home is not a place that you are, home is a space where you can live, breathe and be freely
- Home is not a place that you are, home is a space where you can live, and breathe freely.

From the very first moment that I opened my eyes until the last step across the university gate as a young adult, everything that i have ever known and every value i have ever had is due to the upbringing and support of my home.

In this essay i draw upon my research about human senses and their connection to what justifies home, discussed through physical, visual, sound and smell senses and an auto-ethnographical lens.
First, i discuss how…
The senses of smell can contribute to how we perceive home and how this feeling can be translated into something of comfort and relief in times of pressure. This idea i have found similar views to back this up through the works of (name a context that i have found useful). By examining what it is like to live at home through my own experiences of living at home as a young adult through the coronavirus lockdown when times are stressful and all we need is the comforts and stabililty of home to keep us going.
Secondly , i discuss how…
I have been really interested in exploring the method of body mapping through the senses and how by examining my own experiences through senses to experiences that i have had in my life i am able to drawn connections to things that i have found to have a much greater impact on my due to their close relation to home. Throuh thid autoethnographical lens i am able to convey my experiences and how i relate to different sensations of touch, smell, taste, hear and see and how these things have a much greater impact on my and i remmember them much more in the long run.
Relating now/the current/what we experience at a certain time to the sensation of touch

“relating to the sense of touch”
And finally, i discuss how…
How are these connections made between a person and places, objects, other people and spaces?
Use the work “the big reveal: sony represents its latest innovations at a very special show in Milan” – how sony technology has created a way for people to bond and form connections with other places, objects and spaces in different rooms filled with everything from “pure sound experiences” to alternative ways of “presenting visual information”
Eventhough this is from a technology point of view i find it really interesting to see how in the world today we are leaning to a more technology based approach to memories and how we capture and store these for a later date
Thinking about like in the future and how this is what the world is going towards/is starting to be like now
Through my research i hope to highlight a connection between the senses that we experience and how these intimate moments are what make us drawn to certain things due to their connection to home.
