my project seeks to…
- introduce the overarching concepts driving your research
- creating a home for a nomadic person, or a person who is without a permanent home
- design and build a structure that can be constructed and deconstructed in a series of different places
- a “kit set” structure that can be moved around from place to place
to achieve this i have considered…
- what texts have you read
- watched a TEd talk; “a playful solution to the housing crisis” – Sarah Murray
- read an article; “knowing through making: the role of the artifact in practice-led research” – Makala Maarit
- read an article; “introducing practice-cases design research” Laurene Vaughan
- studied an artifact; “soapbox sculpture” by Jasmax
my research will attempt to…
- what are your aims?
- to produce a series of parts that can be assembled into a structure
- create a system that does not use permanent fixings and therefore this makes it easily movable
- a generic but carefully designed shape that can fit into a series of different places with little to no modification
- talk about what you want to explore through your research
- how this structure can be used by a nomadic person (weather this is homeless, travelling, downsizing, camping, festivals, etc..)
- how the material that are used to make the structure can help improve the overall outcome and morph-ability of the structure
