• This text focuses on how design research at masters level and design in doctorial studies have developed and adapted the same structure of simultaneous design and manufacturing processes and how educators must change their own design practice and thinking to be able to give new insight as leaders in this field.
• Especially with the increase in design practice fields such as interaction design, service design, user experience design, and design for social innovation these are increasing the call for designers to be more than just theridiocal problem solvers, but to become as much of a practical problem solver too.
